“They are certain to attract a lot of interest.”
A collection of original paintings commissioned by British Association for Shooting and Conservation is to be sold at a May auction in Shropshire.
The Sporting and Wildlife auction at Halls Fine Art’s Shrewsbury saleroom on May 6 will feature 120 different artworks from various artists who have collaborated with the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) over a number of years to raise funds towards conservation.
Money raised from the sale of the BASC Wildlife Fund artworks, which also include first day cover stamps and concept sketches, will be invested in BASC’s conservation projects.

Paul Williamson, BASC’s head of land and wildlife management, said: “BASC is offering members and wider collectors the opportunity to own select heritage pieces of artwork associated with the BASC Wildlife Fund.
“The auction will be promoted in BASC’s March/ April magazine that goes out to 150,000 members. Funds raised from the auction will go back into the fund to support future conservation projects linked to sustainable shooting.”

Chloe Delpy-Harding, from Halls Fine Art, said: “We are delighted that BASC has consigned this select collection of original artworks to be sold in our Shrewsbury saleroom in May. They are certain to attract a lot of interest not only from BASC members but also from collectors of quality wildlife art.”

The auction will also feature a selection of portraits of dogs, while the sports section already has a couple of golfing lots by LeRoy Neiman valued at up to £1,200 and £800, together with items of taxidermy and collectables.
Closing date for entries is April 3 and Halls Fine Art is seeking more painting, silver, jewellery, ceramics and other items with a sporting, hunting or wildlife theme.
