Geo Logic
Kendall Conrad
May 9–June 28, 2026
Separate Reality is pleased to present Geo Logic, a solo exhibition of sculp ture by Kendall Conrad, on view May 9 through June 28, 2026. The exhibi tion marks Conrad’s first solo presentation of sculpture, bringing together a group of recent works developed across wood, clay, bronze, and drawing.
Working through a restrained material language shaped by erosion, strati fication, and surface transformation, Conrad’s sculptures examine struc ture as both geological record and spatial proposition. The works develop through reductive vertical and mass-based forms that emphasize weight, balance, and quiet spatial presence. Presented together in dialogue, the ex hibition brings together laminated and charred wood sculptures, hand-built ceramic forms, newly cast bronzes, and a sequence of charcoal drawings that function as field notes to the sculptural work, reflecting an evolving dia logue between natural process and intentional structure.
Rather than describing landscape directly, the sculptures operate through compression, accumulation, and surface tension, suggesting formations shaped over time by pressure and exposure. Across materials, Conrad de velops a consistent vocabulary of structure and interval that moves between density and openness, containment and release.
“I’m interested in how natural forces reshape material over time, and how those processes can be translated into structure rather than description.”
Conrad lives and works in Santa Barbara, California.
An opening reception will be held Saturday, May 9, from 6–8 PM.
