The care and artistic direction of YouNique Fine Craft Art & Design are entrusted to Andrea Peri and Sonia Gaffuri of Target Management, who bring refined master craftsmen and international artists to Lugano, for a one-of-a-kind exhibition itinerary, characterized by pieces made art, always with a mood of its own.: high quality, style and beauty in all its forms will be a key feature of the visitor experience.
The sophistication of the event is clear right from the choice of location: Villa Ciani – nineteenth-century residence of great charm located along Lake Ceresio in the center of Lugano – returns to host, for its fourth edition, YouNique – Fine Craft Art & Designè and becomes the scenography of one of the important novelties of this edition. One of the largest halls of Villa Ciani, in fact, has been made available by the organizers to host Ukrainian treasures, a review aimed at promoting the craftsmanship and art of that territory through the exhibition and sale of the works of some Ukrainian craftsmen/artists.
Another important novelty will be the section YouNique Fine Art District, a project realized in collaboration with OLG International and Arts & Fashions Gallery. The entire second floor of Villa Ciani will be dedicated to contemporary art, through the presence of international galleries that will showcase a selection of works by artists they represent.
The event is conceived and curated by Andrea Peri, director, and Sonia Gaffuri, event manager of Target Management, a Swiss company specializing in “bespoke” projects and events for the world of luxury, with the sponsorship and contribution of the City of Lugano, Lugano Region, the patronage of OMA – Observatory of the Mestieri d’Arte and Confartigianato Florence, of the Cologni Mestieri d’Arte Foundation, the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. The event has also become part of the Wellmade circuit, a platform that aims to spread a culture of quality and bring together the different realities that work every day to enhance and promote excellent craftsmanship. Furthermore, Aston Martin, also synonymous with excellence, will be the main partner thanks to Garage Pasta, which will be present outside Villa Ciani with a rare limited edition supercar.
YouNique Fine Art District
YouNique is also enriched with the YouNique Fine Art District project, an unprecedented section of the market exhibition created in collaboration with OLG International, a company created with the aim of logistically supporting all international brands with a focus ranging from high fashion, to Luxury jewellery, interior design, up to visual merchandising, and the Arts & Fashions Gallery, a reality that deals with various operations within the art world: from the management of both private and institutional collections, to the Advisor, buying and selling of works of art, setting up exhibitions and trade fairs.
YouNique Fine Art District will take shape throughout the second floor of Villa Ciani, hosting a selection of the most innovative art galleries in Switzerland and beyond. Each room will be reserved for a different gallery and thus a real art district will come to life within which, in addition to the exhibition and sale of works of art, each gallery will be able to present its own collateral event, including live sessions, tables roundabouts, meetings with artists, debates on the world of art and much more.
Two important patronages
The fourth edition of YouNique, testifying to the high level achieved by the event as a showcase of the most important realities of high international craftsmanship, has obtained two important patronages: two foundations among the most important at European level in this sector, Cologni Art Crafts Foundation e Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. The latter is also pleased to introduce visitors to the YouNique event Homo Faber Guide and its Rising Stars, talented creatives who are building their lives as emerging artisans and who are embarking on a path focused on craftsmanship after a career change. They are the future faces of the international artisan scene. The talented young craftsman who will participate in YouNique this year is Marco Lazzaroni from Ticino, specialized in the sustainable and ethical processing of leather, who will show live how he works and how he produces his creations.
