HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – A local artisan co-op, Oasis Fine Art & Craft, is celebrating with members of the community for their 25th anniversary.
Their celebration continued during the First Friday’s event Nov. 7, as local artists showcase their work and highlight the community mosaic project.
Local artist, Barbra Camph, who was assisting with the project, said that they officially broke the record with over 6,00 participants. She said there was a positive reaction to the project from the community.
“I was the point person for people who wanted to have a panel, and they would tell me what they wanted, their image, and in many cases, I would do that main image and then give them the panel for them to finish. And some people would do the whole thing themselves, and that was okay, but it was just so cool,” Camph said.
She said that this project was a great way to celebrate the 25th year and the city of Harrisonburg.
