Cremona Contemporanea Art Week 2026

When: 18/05/2026 – 26/05/2026 | Where: historic centre of Cremona, Italy

Now in its third edition, Cremona Contemporanea Art Week returns with a city‑wide program that connects visual arts, architecture and urban heritage. For nine days the historic centre hosts site‑specific works, immersive installations, performances and curator talks staged in palaces, courtyards, convents and venues usually closed to the public.

Origins and artistic direction

Launched in 2023 by NOT Titled YET with artistic director Rossella Farinotti, the event has rapidly become a reference for contemporary experimentation. For 2026 the artistic direction is supported by a team of curators, including Ettore Favino and Stefano Pirovano, to create a plural narrative that brings together diverse generations and languages.

Programme and highlights

The exhibition trail features around twenty artists and an expanding roster of venues: in addition to established locations such as Palazzo del Comune, Palazzo Fodri, Palazzo Raimondi and RobolottiSei, the public will access unusual sites like bunkers, hidden theatres, abandoned monasteries and previously inaccessible sacred places. The parallel Faville projects return, focusing on independent shows, participatory installations, art publishing and interdisciplinary experimentation.

  • Site‑specific exhibitions and installations in historic and unconventional spaces
  • Performances and talks with artists and curators
  • Participatory projects and public activities
  • Faville section for independent and experimental initiatives

Practical information

Many events are free to attend; some installations or special activities may require booking. In certain cases access will be organized in time slots — reservations could be requested, for example, between 15:00 and 19:00.

How to get there: Cremona is served by regional and high‑speed trains; by car there are parking facilities near the exhibition district. A free shuttle service between the city centre and CremonaFiere will be available during the event.

Visitor tips

  • Check the updated programme in advance and book any limited‑capacity activities.
  • Wear comfortable shoes: many venues are accessible on foot within the historic centre.
  • Use the exhibition trail to discover lesser‑known corners of the city through contemporary art.

Cremona Contemporanea Art Week offers a fresh lens on the city: a must‑see event for followers of contemporary art in Lombardy and across Italy.
