Arthur Hadade, the chameleon who launched the ‘Spotify of contemporary art’

Arthur Hadade, in Paris, October 2025.

Facing his iPhone amid paintings and ceramics, Arthur Hadade addresses his community as if speaking to a group of friends, using close-up shots, informal language and a knack for storytelling developed over years spent exploring galleries. “This is an exhibition inspired by a haunted house, and this family home is the main character.” Just steps from the Seine, hidden under a sooty November sky, the 35-year-old content creator visited the Mennour gallery, which was showcasing a young graduate from the Beaux-Arts de Paris.

His video commentary on the work of artist Nina Jayasuriya would appear a few days later on the app he launched in May 2024 with two partners: Cur8 (pronounced like “curate”). Today in France, anglicisms are everywhere, much to the dismay of the Académie Française. People now “curate” playlists, works and artists – in other words, they select, arrange, and share relevant content.
