The Seneca County Arts Council’s Artworks Gallery will feature the fine art photography of William Ketchen this September, offering a visual journey through nature, nostalgia, and Americana.
The exhibit runs from September 1 through September 24 in Abby’s Gallery, a dedicated space within the Artworks Gallery at 109 Fall Street in Seneca Falls. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 5 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Ketchen, who began his photography journey after retiring, is known for capturing seasonal landscapes, waterfalls, abandoned buildings, and classic American icons. “Landscape photography is my favorite,” he said. “I want to share the beauty of Mother Nature during all four seasons.”
The show will also include images from his Classic Car Hood Ornament calendar, created to benefit the ACE Mentoring Program. Those photos—taken at the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich—feature rare hood ornaments from the 1920s and 1930s. Some are slated for publication this fall in Life in the Finger Lakes magazine.
The Artworks Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is staffed entirely by volunteers. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead at 315-257-0201 to confirm hours. More details are available at www.artsinseneca.org.
