A statue of a giant piece of poop on a desk was unveiled across the street from the US Capitol on Thursday, October 24. The piece features a Rep. Nancy Pelosi nameplate, a replica telephone, and a paragraph explaining the provocative work.
The plaque on the front reads: “This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, to loot, urinate, and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election.
President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6 as ‘unbelievable patriots’ and ‘warriors.’ This monument stands as a testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy.”
Alexander Howard captured this footage and posted it to X with the caption, reading in part, “I found new evocative public art on the National Mall.” Credit: Alexander Howard via Storyful

Here in the National Mall on Third Street.
There’s a new piece of public art that I just discovered this morning.
There are some other folks here who have been taking pictures and reporting on it and of course passer by it’s a uh flint, I believe with a plaque and a desk.
If you look closely, you’ll see uh a molded poop emoji effectively a giant pile of poop.
It’s on a desk uh with Nancy Pelosi’s nameplate.
Um and the art itself is quite light.
Uh It’s molded foam below and a wooden desk.
Um And then it has a notable plaque down here.
This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6th 2021 to loot urinate and defecate throughout those hallowed halls.
In order to overturn an election, President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as quote, unbelievable patriots, quote and quote, warriors.
This monument stands as testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy, considerable dry sarcasm there in referring to the men and women who have been in many cases convicted of assaulting federal police officers in order to gain entry to the capitol to disrupt the certification of electoral votes and obstruct the transition of power after they were incited to seditious mob violence by Donald Trump with lies of stolen election.
This public art I expect will create some interesting discussion and most likely outrage from people who do not wish the facts of that day to be recounted or remembered for Americans who wish to be able to see themselves go to fbi.gov/capital violence or look up the January 6th report and remember what happened that day and why?
