Lyndsey Ciarcia raising awareness of moths and butterflies

From July 14-28, Dundonald artist Lyndsey Ciarcia will create a new original A5 watercolour artwork every day as part of Moths & Butterflies: 15 Days of Conservation.

The art challenge raises awareness of the disappearance of moths and butterflies from our ecosystems.

Timed to conclude on World Nature Conservation Day, the series highlights the vulnerability of these often-overlooked species.

Each piece features a different British moth or butterfly, painted in watercolour and adorned with gold leaf, symbolising both the fleeting beauty and the fragile future of these pollinators.

All artworks will be available for purchase at £49 each plus postage, and 10 per cent of all painting sales will be donated to Butterfly Conservation, supporting their work to protect native species and habitats across the U.K.

The artworks will be released daily and can be followed and purchased via www.lyndseyciarciaart.com, or search for Sunnybrae Studio on Instagram and Facebook.

Lyndsey said: “These moths and butterflies are crucial to our ecosystems and their numbers are plummeting annually.

“I wanted to showcase their beauty while reminding us that they may not always be here unless we pay attention now.”
