Where to see the first five of 33 sand sculptures

Sculptures are beginning to appear around Yarmouth as the Sand Sculpture Trail returns for the 14th year. More than 30 sand sculptures will be seen on the trail by late June.

Five sculptures have already been completed and are ready for viewing at the Yarmouth Visitors Center, Route 6 Welcome Center, Yarmouth Town Hall, John G. Sears and Son Inc. Landscape Contractors, and LAER Realty Partners, according to the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce website.

Other locations to come include the Bass River Golf Course at 62 Highbank Road, Hole In One at 582 Main St. and the Red Jacket Beach Resort at 1 South Shore Drive. The site list for the sculptures is posted on the Chamber of Commerce’s website.

The masterminds behind the sand, Sean and Tracey Fitzpatrick, are set to build a total of 33 sculptures this year. Fitzysnowman Sculpting, the Fitzpatrick’s business, is known for sculpting ice and snow as well as sand, according to their website. They also do street chalk art and pumpkin carvings.

All 33 sand sculptures are expected to finish by late June, at which point the town will create a trail map for your next family walk. They will be available digitally or at the Yarmouth Visitors Center on Route 28. In the meantime, the chamber is posting updates on the latest sculptures on Facebook.

As more sand sculptures appear, you might find yourself getting more invested. If that’s the case, then the town invites you to cast your vote on your favorite sculpture once they are all finished. There is also the possibility of winning a getaway package worth more than $450, according to the website.

What could be a better family outing than setting out to see all the sculptures? Be sure to take a photo with them for another chance to win a getaway. For more information visit the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce.
