I can’t sell house because of neighbour’s rubbish sculptures

A man claims he is struggling to sell his house to pay off outstanding care bills because his neighbour’s “modern art” is putting off potential buyers.

John Kirby, 62, is among locals who have complained to Fife council about Denis Carbonaro, who uses his front and back garden to exhibit what he describes as “highly original, three dimensional wows”.

These “wows”, mostly made up of recycled materials, have included a woolly mammoth, a Spanish galleon up a tree, a spider, and a shrine during Covid.

However, Kirby, whose mother lived next door to Carbonaro in Dalgety Bay, said that the “eyesore” and “rubbish” artwork was preventing him from selling the two-bedroom semi-detached property.
