Beloved glass pumpkins for sale again as the Festival of Fine Craft returns to WheatonArts (PHOTOS)

The Festival of Fine Craft at WheatonArts in Millville resumed this weekend following a cancelation of last year’s event due to COVID-19.

Paintings, ceramics, wood sculptures, jewelry, wearable art and other works by more than 125 artists and craftspeople were on display and for sale at the Cumberland County show.

Several artists demonstrated their crafts, from broom making and basket making to wood carving to wheel throwing. Armando Sosa and Angélica Lôpez provided hands-on lessons on different weaving techniques employed by Guatemalan artists for centuries.

All demonstrations were held outside with some attendees wearing masks.

People waited in long lines for the always popular WheatonArts Glass Pumpkin Fundraiser, where limited-edition handcrafted glass pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and colors were displayed in a pumpkin patch of sorts. Sales from the fundraiser support arts education programming at WheatonArts, a non-profit arts organization focused on glass.

Live music by South Jersey’s PackageGoods Orchestra is performed daily from noon to 4 p.m. Several food vendors, such as Three Guys Rolling Pies, Matty G’s Hot Dogz, Potato Patoto, and House of Cupcakes, were onsite. There was also a beer and wine garden, featuring Cape May Brewery and Bellview Winery, for guests 21 and older.

The Festival of Fine Craft continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets can be purchased at the gate: $12 for adults, $11 for seniors (62+) and $7 for students; children 5 and under are free.

According to the event’s organizers, masks must be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status, and will also be required outdoors when social distancing is not possible.
