The Museum of Recent Art (MARe) is set to unveil, for the first time, a selection of works from its international contemporary art collection, with the exhibition “All Our Todays,” opening on February 13. The showcase features over 60 works by more than 50 artists from 20 countries, including renowned figures such as Giorgio de Chirico, Lucio Fontana, Antony Gormley, Bridget Riley, and Richard Serra—artists whose creations are housed in leading global institutions like MoMA, Tate, and Centre Pompidou.
Curated by Flavia Frigeri and Ioana Iuna Şerban, “All Our Todays” investigates the interplay between figurative and abstract art, offering audiences a fresh perspective on how contemporary artists interpret and express the world around them.
„The exhibition is organized around thematic constellations, oscillating between abstract and figurative, helping viewers understand the multiple paths chosen by artists in exploring the self and the essence of art. Color, form, and subject representation are essential in this exhibition, which invites deep emotional engagement with the displayed works,” says Flavia Frigeri, co-curator of the exhibition”, explains Flavia Frigeri, co-curator of the exhibition.
Public programs and curated tours
To enhance the visitor experience, the exhibition’s opening week will feature two guided tours led by the curators:
- February 13 – English-language tour with Dr. Flavia Frigeri
- February 14 – Romanian-language tour with Ioana Iuna Şerban
These interpretive sessions will provide insight into the creative processes behind the showcased works, offering audiences a deeper understanding of the artists’ perspectives. The museum will continue hosting public programs and educational events throughout the exhibition’s duration.
“All Our Todays” will be on view from February 13 to May 25, 2025. Tickets are available for purchase via www.mare.ro.
