A new exhibit at the Artworks Gallery in Seneca Falls is turning heads—and raising funds—with vivid images of nature by photographer Charles Cappellino.
Hosted by the Seneca County Arts Council, the gallery is featuring Cappellino’s fine art photography through July 30 at its location on Fall Street. The show, part of the council’s designated artist series, offers a glimpse into Cappellino’s lifelong passion for the outdoors, wildlife, and the night sky.
“Walking through the woods, observing wildlife or wandering my backyard with camera in hand sparks a sense of wonder for the natural world around us,” Cappellino said.
Following his retirement, Cappellino chose to refine his craft in photography to share his perspective and encourage others to see the world differently. His goal extended beyond artistry—he wanted to make a tangible impact. To date, nearly 100 of his framed photographs have been donated to charity auctions.
“My hope is to inspire you to use your unique gifts to make our community better,” he said.
In line with that mission, most proceeds from the current exhibit will benefit the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network to support efforts to improve the lake’s water quality.
The Artworks Gallery features work by member artists and includes a variety of handcrafted items such as jewelry, pottery, glassware, and fiber arts. Operated by volunteers, the gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday. Visitors can confirm hours by calling 315-257-0201.
