Frank’s Chop Shop and art gallery: new Rochester cultural hub

Young entrepreneur Corbin Abramson is bringing a unique art experience to Downtown Rochester.

Brighton native Corbin Abramson began reselling art and clothes out of his home in 2010. Since then, he has been known to be a collector with an eye for all things rare and near impossible to find. After traveling to major cities and exploring different cultural scenes, Abramson felt like something was missing in his hometown and wanted to bring a diverse mix of businesses under one roof.

In 2022, Abramson opened his business at 127 East Ave in downtown Rochester for visitors of all ages and walks of life. Located in the heart of Rochester’s growing art and music district, the establishment features three different businesses: Capacity, a rare sneaker and collectible consignment shop; The Gallery, which displays different emerging artists each month; and Frank’s Chop Shop, a highly regarded barber shop brand with locations in NYC and Japan.

“Giving local artists and artists from all over the world an opportunity to display their art is something that truly makes me happy,” Abramson said. “Selling art is the thrill for me.”

The Gallery offers an art exhibit each month featuring artists from across the region and around the globe. The Gallery will be hosting First Friday openings through 2025.
